Cheesecake recalled from Target stores in Florida, California, Texas and other states
Published in News & Features
One lot of Target store-brand cheesecake has been recalled by the manufacturer for an issue that can range from annoyance to fatal, depending on the consumer.
The FDA-posted recall notice from Dessert Holdings, which made Favorite Brand Gourmet New York Style Cheesecake for Target, says Dessert Holdings got a complaint that the cheesecake had pecans, but the label didn’t list pecans among the allergens.
That’s a minor problem unless you’re one of those folks with a pecan allergy, who “run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.”
The cheesecakes were sold as two pieces, weighing 6 ounces and in plastic clam shell containers. The recalled lot, No. 25028A1 000039133 with UPC code No. 0 85239 09690 1, went to distribution centers in Florida, Texas, California, Iowa and Ohio.
If you have this cheesecake and there’s no chance anyone with a pecan allergy will eat it, carry on as normal. Otherwise, return it to the store for a full refund or call Target Guest Relations, 800-444-0680.
Direct questions about this recall to Dessert Holdings by calling 720-766-9060, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Eastern time or emailing marketing@dessertholdings.com.
