Tropical Storm Gabrielle strengthened into a hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean on Sunday evening — becoming the second hurricane of the 2025 season, according to forecasters.

In its 5 p.m., the National Hurricane Center said Gabrielle is about 320 miles southeast of Bermuda as it moves north, north west at around 10 mph. The system has a maximum sustained winds of 75 mph, forecasters say.

Gabrielle is not expected to impact the U.S., and its center is forecast to past east of Bermuda on Monday, per the National Hurricane Center.

As of Sunday night, the National Hurricane Center has not issued any coastal hurricane watches or warnings.

Forecasters are also tracking another system in the Atlantic that’s moving north westward, but has a low chance of forming into a tropical storm.

“Environmental conditions appear only marginally conducive for further development over the next several days as the wave continues to move quickly westward to west westward at around 20 mph,” the National Hurricane Center said.

Forecasters say it has a 10% chance of development in the next 48 hours, and a 20% chance over the next seven days.
