Car zoomed off near Nancy Guthrie's home around time of abduction: footage
Published in News & Features
New Ring camera footage from a home near Nancy Guthrie’s shows a vehicle rushing off just minutes after the missing woman’s abduction earlier this month.
Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah, was last seen on the evening of Jan. 31 and taken from her Tucson, Ariz. home in the early hours of Feb. 1, with her pacemaker last syncing to her phone at 2:28 a.m.
The new footage, obtained by Fox News, shows a vehicle zooming off around 2:30 a.m. It comes from the residence of Elias and Danielle Stratigouleas, who live on a back road that leads out of Guthrie’s neighborhood, and roughly 2.5 miles and a 7-minute drive from her home.
The Stratigouleas camera footage — of which the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is aware — recorded a dozen cars passing between midnight and 6 a.m. on Feb. 1.
Law enforcement previously sought Ring camera footage from homes located within two miles of Guthrie’s, from as far back as Jan. 1, though they were particularly interested in the late hours of Jan. 11, and the midmorning hours of Jan. 31.
The FBI previously released footage from Guthrie’s doorbell camera, which showed a man in a ski mask approaching early on Feb. 1, with a 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Backpack, gloves and holster. That man is believed to be between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10 with an average build.
Savannah shared in a video earlier this week that the family is offering up to $1 million leading to the “recovery” of her mother, in addition to the $100,000 offered by the FBI for information. The anonymous tip line 88-CRIME is also offering $2,500, alongside an anonymous donor’s $100,000 reward.
Though the family “still believe[s] in a miracle,” Savannah acknowledged that her mother “may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in heaven.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 800 CALL-FBI (800-225-5324) and can remain anonymous.
