Jennifer Lopez takes teen Emme to George Clooney's Broadway debut

NEW YORK — Jennifer Lopez and her teen Emme took center stage Thursday when they attended the premiere of “Good Night, and Good Luck,” the Broadway debut of Lopez’s former co-star George Clooney.
The Bronx-born pop star, 55, and the 17-year-old — who Lopez shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, along with Emme’s twin Max — posed for photos in synchronized black velvet ensembles, a gown for the former, a suit and tie for the teen, at the Winter Garden Theatre, according to People.
The appearance comes on the heels of Lopez dubbing Emme “the best date ever” after they attended the premiere of the “Othello” revival, starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Mother-and-teen enjoyed their lavish night out just two days before Ben Affleck broke his silence on his and Lopez’s divorce, which was finalized in January. The stars reconciled their early aughts relationship in 2021 and wed twice in 2022, before Lopez filed for divorce in August.
In a new profile for GQ, 52-year-old Affleck insisted, “There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue” to account for the pair’s widely publicized romance, nor its demise.
“My life is pretty drama-free,” said the “Argo” filmmaker. “If somebody sat down and talked to me about [the divorce], and I said, ‘Well this is really the experience,’ their eyes would glaze over with boredom.”
On the stage, 63-year-old Clooney is playing broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow amid the backdrop of McCarthyism, 20 years after Clooney directed David Strathairn to his first Oscar nomination for the same role. Clooney played Fred Friendly in the best picture-nominated version of “Good Night, and Good Luck,” which Clooney also co-wrote with Grant Heslov.
Clooney and the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer previously acted alongside each other in Steven Soderbergh’s 1998 action thriller, “Out of Sight.” Clooney also directed Affleck in 2021’s “The Tender Bar.”
