The official cause of death has been revealed for actor Julian McMahon, who died on July 2 in Clearwater, Florida, at the age of 56.
According to a Cremation Approval Summary Report from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner, the Australian actor died from lung metastasis as a result of head and neck metastatic cancer. His manner of death was ruled as natural.
McMahon’s death was initially confirmed last Friday by his wife Kelly McMahon, who said he “died peacefully” following a private battle with cancer. She didn’t offer any details on the type of cancer at the time.
Best known for his roles in the TV series “Charmed,” “Nip/Tuck” and “FBI: Most Wanted,” McMahon’s movie credits include the “Fantastic Four” films of the mid-2000s, “Premonition” starring Sandra Bullock, and “The Surfer” with Nicolas Cage.
He was most recently seen in this year’s Netflix hit “The Residence,” where he played the Australian prime minister.
In addition to his wife of more than 10 years, McMahon is survived by his 25-year-old daughter Madison, whom he shared with ex-wife Brooke Burns.
