So You Think You Can Dance winner Joshua Allen died after being hit by a train.
The 36-year-old dancer - who won the fourth season of the reality show in 2008 - passed away on Tuesday (30.09.25), his family have confirmed.
His loved ones told TMZ the family are asking for "privacy and prayers" in the wake of the tragedy and though they didn't reveal his cause of death, People magazine reported Joshua had been hit by a train.
Choreographer Emmanuel Hurd, a friend of Joshua admitted he was stunned by the news.
He told TMZ: "He didn't always do things the way that everybody thought he should, but that's why he was a winner."
He paid a longer tribute on Instagram, in which he wrote: "I can't wrap my head around this…Josh…my brotha. There are no words. You were the life of the party. You were Batman. Champion. One of the realest people I ever met. Kept it a stack every time and would make it right if you fell short. A real King. This one hurts deep.(sic)"
Emmanuel is taking comfort from the fact his friend is "with Stephen now", referring to Stephen 'tWitch' boss, Joshua's runner-up on So You Think You Can Dance, who took his own life in 2022.
He added: "I know you're with Stephen now and that brings me comfort. I love you bro. IVEVER (sic)"
Joshua's most recent Instagram post paid tribute to the late Malcolm-Jamal Warner after the Cosby Show drowned on a family vacation.
Sharing a picture of them together, he wrote: "Fly high King #gonetoosoon.(sic)"
In the wake of his win on the competition series, Joshua had vowed to save his $250,000 prize money because he had big plans for his career.
He told Entertainment Weekly at the time: "I want to save [the $250,000 prize] and have it grow. I'm going to move out to L.A., of course, and follow my career...
"I do want to be a recording artist. I want to choreograph and hopefully own my own studio and company. As my ultimate goal, I want to own my own record label, and be a producer -- things like that. But I also want to model."
