Leona Lewis is making her house "like Jurassic Park" as she prepares for her Las Vegas residency.

The Bleeding Love hitmaker will be performing her A Starry Night shows at Voltaire at The Venetian in Sin City between November and January and she's doing all she can to protect her voice for the concerts, including making the air she breathes as moist as possible.

She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper's Bizarre Column: "There will be misters and humidifiers in the changing room and in the house so that I can make it like the Amazon.

"It is going to be very weird coming into my house - like Jurassic Park. But yeah, just really taking care of the voice."

Leona was attracted to the idea of the residency because of the intimacy of the venue.

She said: "The fact that it is so intimate and up close and personal is one of the reasons why I wanted to do the residency here.

"It kind of just puts you in people's faces. Literally."

The 40-year-old star previously vowed to take inspiration from Adele's Sin City residency and "share her life" with her fans between songs.

She told The Sun newspaper: "I love that about [Adele's] show.

"She has the most incredible voice, but I just loved her chatting and sharing life with everyone.

"It's about pulling back the curtain and knowing who the artist really is and why we sing the songs we sing.

"The fact that it is so intimate is one of the reasons why I wanted to do the residency here...

"It has been 20 years since I stepped on the scene with X Factor, and a lot has happened in my life.

"This is not just a show. This is me sharing what I've been through, How I started, why I wrote certain songs, why I performed certain songs. It's the culmination of my life's work in music."

Leona feels "very proud" to have been offered her own Las Vegas residency and her family are planning to join her in the city for the duration.

She said: "I feel very proud and privileged that I get to follow in the footsteps of Elton John and Adele and have a show in Las Vegas.

"It's a big deal coming from the UK, a girl from Hackney, to do a big Vegas show. That really means something to me, my family and my community...

"We are moving for the family really, because my mum and dad are going to come out. They're going to help me with my daughter Coco.

"My husband's here a lot. He has a production here. So we were just like, 'Let's be here for a minute and really just feel embedded in the community'."
