Hilaria Baldwin admits her 26-year age gap with Alec Baldwin can either be "a flex" or a need for "a little therapy".
The 41-year-old star has opened up about her relationship with the 67-year-old actor - who she married in 2012 - and she insisted the cliche of age being "just a number" isn't true for them as a couple.
She told the Uncut and Uncensored with Caroline Stanbury podcast: "I don't believe that age is just a number, at least in our situation.
"I think that there's certain things where I have to look at him and say he has 26 more years of experience.
"And sometimes that's a flex, and sometimes that means that we need to do a little therapy."
The Dancing With The Stars contestant argued that you "can't please everybody" in life, while it's important to know "what you want" by the time you're in your 40s.
She added: "That's a beautiful thing, you know, for your relationship ... you know what you want, and there's probably a confidence that you have now that is extremely sexy and extremely just comforting.
"Whereas the ups and the downs and the insecurities that we often have when we're younger and not knowing ourselves.
"I think that that is only a gift that comes with age."
The couple have children Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leonardo, nine, Romeo, seven, Edu, five, Maria four, and two-year-old Ilaria together, while Alec also has daughter Ireland, 30, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.
Alec admitted his outlook on parenting has "changed" as he's got older.
During an episode of reality show The Baldwins, he said: "Everything has changed.
"I think when you're her age and you have kids, and you get older, you get tougher. And for me, as I'm getting older and older… I don't want to be tougher.
"I want to just watch and see what the years I have left us to experience and not have it be about me."
