'100 NIGHTS OF HERO'

Rated PG-13 for sexual material, some bloody images and language.

What it’s about: In a fantastical ancient world, a bride trapped in a sexless marriage finds liberation through stories.

The kid attractor factor: This is more of a tween-attractor movie, aimed at a young adult audience with its fairy-tale setting, colorful aesthetic and simplified feminist message.

Good lessons/bad lessons: The liberation of the body can only be achieved through the liberation of the mind.

Violence: Some bloody images and references to execution and suicide.

Language: Some strong language.

Sex: Mostly references to sex and seduction, nothing graphic.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: Fine for older kids and teens.

'THE SECRET AGENT'

Rated R for strong bloody violence, sexual content, language, and some full nudity.

What it’s about: Set in Brazil in 1977, a university professor flees to Recife where he hopes to escape persecution in the country. A lived-in portrait of the city, time and place, and a political thriller.

The kid attractor factor: Not much, this political drama is more for adults.

Good lessons/bad lessons: There is still life in places where corruption and terror have taken over.

Violence: Some bloody and violent images, gory dismemberments, shootings, executions, etc.

Language: Some swearing.

Sex: A couple of sex scenes with nudity.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: Too mature for kids but fine for teens if they are interested.
