Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau go Instagram official after months of speculation

The fireworks between Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are now Instagram official, following months of speculation and steamy sightings.
The 41-year-old pop star — who recently ended her engagement to Orlando Bloom — shared a selfie on Saturday with the former Canadian prime minister, showing them cuddled up beneath the fall foliage in Japan.
“Tokyo times on tour and more,” wrote Perry, who performed just outside the country’s capital on Wednesday as part of the Asian leg of her Lifetimes Tour.
The post also featured a dozen other photos and videos, including a black-and-white clip of the couple dining on sushi as Trudeau, 53, keeps an arm around the “Fireworks” singer. They’re later shown enjoying a breakfast of Japanese soufflé pancakes and immersing themselves in an intergalactic art exhibit at teamLab.
The hard launch came just two days after former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida shared a photo of himself and his wife having lunch with Trudeau and “his partner Katy Perry.”
It also came just three months after sources told Us Weekly that the duo hadn’t gotten serious, largely because of Perry’s “extremely busy” schedule. In late October, an insider said Perry was “really into” the new romance, but was “trying to keep it low-key.”
“They’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicize this relationship,” the source said.
Rumors of something brewing between the pop star and politician began in late July, just weeks after representatives for Perry and Orlando Bloom confirmed they’d parted ways for good after nine years on and off.
The exes, who are parents to 5-year-old Daisy Dove, “will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect,” the reps said.
Meanwhile, Trudeau and his estranged wife, Sophie Grégoire, announced in the summer of 2023 that they were separating after 18 years of marriage. The former couple, who share three children, have not yet legally divorced.
