Amy Poehler "got in a fight" with a man on a flight because she swore in front of her Mean Girls co-star Ana Gasteyer's baby.

The man criticized the 54-year-old comedienne because he did not like the star cursing in front of Ana, 58, and her husband, Charlie McKittrick's daughter Frances, who is now 23.

On the latest episode of Amy's Good Hang podcast, she asked Ana - who played Cady Heron's (Lindsay Lohan's) mom Betsy in the 2004 comedy-romance movie: "What are your memories about us doing Mean Girls together?"

Ana - who also has a 17-year-old son called Ulysses - replied: "I remember being on the plane with you."

Smiling, Amy - who played June George, the mom of Regina George (Rachel McAdams) and Kylie George (Nicole Crimi), in Mean Girls - responded: "Yeah. We were on the plane, and I got in a fight with a guy."

Ana then said: "Yeah. You got in a fight with a guy. And baby Frances was on the plane with us. Do you remember that?"

Amy asked: "Your baby Frances, who is now in her 20s. She was on the plane, and I still got in a fight with the guy with the baby around?"

Ana reminded Amy: "Yeah. I hope so. Because the guy got mad that you were swearing in front of the baby."

After the memory clicked, Amy then recalled: "Yeah. Right. It's a long story, but what happened was a guy, like a first-class guy - we were in first class too - he was like, 'Excuse me, I'm trying to ... you're being too loud in first class.'

"And my Boston came out."

Ana hailed the row as "the best thing I've ever seen".

The duo also remembered being with 55-year-old comedienne-and-actress Tina Fey - who wrote Mean Girls - as she wrote the movie, which is based on the non-fiction book Queen Bees and Wannabes, by 56-year-old author Rosalind Wiseman

After Amy asked Ana what she recalls from filming Mean Girls, Ana said: "I remember hanging out with you in that hotel one night and having drinks.

"I remember when Tina ... I have a memory of her sitting at the table on 17 and saying, 'I think I'm going to option this book.'"

Amy agreed: "Me too. I have an image of her sitting at her computer and having the book near her, and just working on it, being like, 'I'm writing this movie.'"

Ana added: "It's incredible."
