'Baywatch' star Alexandra Paul arrested for freeing animals during protest

“Baywatch” star Alexandra Paul was arrested in Wisconsin over the weekend for trespassing on a farm, where she allegedly set free several animals.
Paul was among some 50 protesters who showed up at Ridglan Farms in Blue Mound as part of an animal rights demonstration on Sunday, according to a statement from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office obtained by People. Deputies were called to the property around 8:58 a.m., after the group allegedly “broke into the facility and began removing numerous dog,” authorities said.
In total, 20 people were arrested in connection with the incident.
Ridglan Farms is one of only two large dog breeders in the U.S. that offer up animals to use as scientific research.
In October 2025, the the La Crosse County District Attorney and Ridglan Farms agreed that the facility would surrender its Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection license and would not sell dogs purposefully bred for biomedical research, according to WKOW 27. That is slated to go into effect on July 1, 2026.
Dane County Sheriff Calvin Barrett in an update said authorities are in “the process of peacefully resolving the issue,” noting that all “animals that were taken have been recovered.”
Barrett added that he “understands how deeply people feel for the beagles at Ridglan Farms, and we respect their right to express that passion through peaceful protests.”
Paul, who played Stephanie Holden on Baywatch from 1992 to 1997, was previously charged with misdemeanor theft for allegedly snatching two chickens from a Foster Farms truck in September 2021. According to the Fresno Bee, she later appeared in Merced County Court, where she was found not guilty.
