A trailer for the Val Kilmer film “As Deep as the Grave” featuring an AI version of the actor who died in 2025 is now online.

Director Coerte Voorhees introduced the teaser to the western adventure film at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Wednesday, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Kilmer, who died from throat cancer at 65, signed on to the project, but struggled with health issues once production began. His daughter Mercedes Kilmer reportedly gave her blessing for her dad’s likeness to be used in the movie.

“Don’t fear the dead and don’t fear me,” an AI-generated Kilmer says during a poignant scene that ends the trailer.

Voorhees told Variety in March that Kilmer was meant to play the role of spiritualist Father Fintan, even if the “Batman” and “The Doors” star wasn’t up for it medically.

“It was very much designed around him,” Voorhees said.

Kilmer’s daughter thinks her dad would’ve liked appearing one last time in “As Deep as the Grave” however things played out.

“He always looked at emerging technologies with optimism as a tool to expand the possibilities of storytelling,” she said in a statement supporting the project. “This spirit is something that we are all honoring within this specific film, of which he was an integral part.”

Kilmer worked with many of Hollywood’s top actors throughout his long career, including Marlon Brando, Tom Cruise, Christopher Walken, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.

No release date for “As Deep as the Grave” has been confirmed.
