NEW YORK — The woman who accused Jay-Z of sexually assaulting her in a 2024 lawsuit admits she never even met the 56-year-old music mogul.

The accuser identified as “Jane Doe” said in a Southern District of New York court filing that there’s no truth to her earlier claim that he and imprisoned rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs raped her.

She claims that a Facebook notice seeking victims who may have been assaulted by Combs triggered memories of a sexual assault she survived in 2000 when she was 13 years old. That prompted her to contact a lawyer, who took her case. The civil suit was dropped in February 2025.

Now represented by new counsel, Jane Doe says she’s sorry and is receiving no compensation for her retraction.

“I understand my false accusations have caused Mr. Carter immense pain, suffering, and damage that can never be fully undone,” the accuser confessed in a court document.

She also apologized for any reputational harm she may have caused the Brooklyn native born Shawn Corey Carter.

Jay-Z’s legal team responded by saying it would pursue no further action against the unnamed accuser, adding they aren’t guaranteeing that courtesy to the lawyers who pursued the case against the “Empire State of Mind” rapper.

A civil suit against the Buzbee Law Firm charged the plaintiff’s team with “false” and “malicious” pursuit of the case against Jay-Z.

He vehemently denied the charges against him from the start and accused the plaintiff of blackmail.

“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint and not a civil one!” Jay-Z said in a letter screenshotted and posted on X in 2024.

He vowed his accuser and her team would receive no settlement.

“My only heartbreak is for my family,” Jay-Z added. “My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.”
