Jennifer Lawrence has labelled herself "dumb but cute" while admitting she has "no clue" about the money side of her new business.

The Hunger Games star has newly launched "biodesigned haircare" company Mes, with chemical biological engineer Jasmina Aganovic, which is selling just three products - a volumizing mist, a repair mask and a serum.

However, Jennifer, 36, told The Cut while opening up about the inspiration for Mes that she's not the person to ask when it comes to financial questions.

She said: "If you put a gun to my head and were like, 'What are the numbers we would need to reach in order for Mes to be a success?' I would have no clue.

"Numbers don't stick in here. I'm dumb but cute!"

Jennifer also drew a blank when asked if Mes has investors, with Jasmina chimed in to reveal that her original company Arcaea, which has raised $78 million, is financially backing Mes.

And Jennifer knows that it's risky to start a new company with Hollywood, and the world, the way it currently is.

She sighed: "A smarter exit plan would be signing up for a big franchise. Starting a new company to get rich feels like jumping off a cruise ship to land on a door."

But the screen star has been incredibly involved in Mes to ensure the products are something she's willing to promote - and sent the serum back to the lab 150 times before she was happy with it.

She's also been a guinea pig for the products herself, and is told the magazine that her desire to look like a "sexy mom" has been another motivation for launching the company.

Jennifer, who admitted to having a boob job during the interview, as well as revealing her facelift hopes for the future, added: "At drop-off, I want to look like a woman that has her s*** together even when I've just woken up and don't have my s*** together."
