Another rollicking King’s Gambit from the old days. Both sides get their hacks in. White has one move to successfully continue the attack and one move that loses. Choose wisely.


The game was Bird - Anonymous [C37], London, 1886 and went: 1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Nf3 g5 4.Nc3 g4 5.Ne5 Qh4+ 6.g3 fxg3 7.Qxg4 g2+ 8.Qxh4 gxh1=Q 9.Qh5 Be7 10.Nxf7! 10.Qxf7+! Kd8 and Black is winning because of threats of Bh4+ or d6 or Nh6 10...Nf6 11.Nd6+ Kd8 12.Qe8+ Rxe8 13.Nf7#
