'MICKEY 17'

Rated R for violent content, language throughout, sexual content and drug material.

What it’s about: Seeking to escape his problems on Earth, Mickey joins an expedition to another planet where he becomes an "expendable" — his body reprinted again and again when he dies.

The kid attractor factor: This edgy social satire does not have much appeal for kids or younger audiences.

Good lessons/bad lessons: All life has value.

Violence: Some extreme violence and gore.

Language: Swearing throughout.

Sex: Sex scenes and references to sex. No nudity.

Drugs: On-screen drug use and selling.

Parents’ advisory: This is too violent and mature for kids. OK for mature teens and adults.

'IN THE LOST LANDS'

Rated R for violence.

What it’s about: A witch and a hunter go looking for a werewolf in a postapocalyptic landscape.

The kid attractor factor: Not much for kids, maybe teens will be drawn to the fantasy action genre.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Be careful going on a mission with a witch.

Violence: Violence and torture and killing throughout.

Language: None

Sex: References to sex and a postcoital scene but no nudity.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: Too dark and violent for kids. OK for mature teens.
