'THE SMASHING MACHINE'

Rated R for language and some drug abuse.

What it’s about: A biopic of MMA fighter Mark Kerr, following his career in the late '90s.

The kid attractor factor: This is a serious adult drama, not for younger audiences.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Some of those with the most guts don’t get all the glory.

Violence: Bloody beatings and violence in the ring or octagon, threats of violence during some domestic disputes, threats of suicide, brandishing a gun.

Language: Some swearing.

Sex: None

Drugs: Opiate and prescription drug abuse.

Parents’ advisory: OK for teens if they are interested, too mature for kids.
