A 'Taught' Story With an 'Anticlimatic' Ending

Alert members of the Word Guy Blooper Patrol have captured these beauts. Can you spot the blots?

1. "Just below the taught rope was a large log." I've heard of a ropes course, but... 2. "Perry's victory was an anticlimatic ending." Did he solve the problem of global warming?

3. "The two college students celebrated their assent to the top of the mountain." I guess they both agreed to make the climb. 4. "Fire fighters entered the building and distinguished the fire." Did they present with it the Five-Alarm Award?

5. "She swept past clambering reporters." Climbing over one another to get the story? 6. "The leader's eccentricities didn't seem to phase the hardy group." They figured he was just going through a phase.

7. "(A pizza company) capitalized on its in-depth knowledge of the Thai palette." Producing colorful pies, no doubt. 8. "She has hearing aides but never puts them on." Even when she tricks them on April Fool's Day?

9. "Crew members took turns pedaling a stationery bike." Was it made out of paper? 10. "Authorities continue to pour through debris." It must have gotten pretty wet.

11. "Nuisance tickets are issued to owners whose dogs exhibit viscous behavior." Did the pups wallow in maple syrup? 12. "Girls were bussed from one campus to the other." Did the bus have a kiss cam?

13. "Exorcisms can include holy water, crucifixes, and sacred ruins." But only when conducted in a collapsed cathedral. 14. "We'll exorcize great care." Sounds like a risky move.

15. "For Sale: "WW II Ford GPW (Jeep), runs good. Has wench on front bumper." And a siren? 16. "The Congressman tows the party line." I hope it's not heavy.

 

17. "He sticks himself in the middle of the teaming masses." A referee in a little kids' soccer game? 18. "The ministry (offers) programs for those who suffer from addition." First-graders with math phobia?

19. "The author made a plaintiff plea for world peace." In a courtroom? 20. "A 122-mile drive to East Meadow on Long Island provides a sneak peak." Long Island has a mountain?

21. "School officials presented a plague to honor the coach." Citing his infectious enthusiasm? 22. "We were considering the inclusion of those outside the pail." Jack and Jill?
