Pistons showcase advantages of five-day break in blowout win vs. Hawks

DETROIT — The Detroit Pistons played their first game in five days and proved that the mini-break was much needed. On Friday night at Little Caesars Arena, the Pistons won their third consecutive game in a 142-115 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
It was a collective effort for Detroit (20-5) as eight players scored in double figures. Isaiah Stewart led the way with 17 points, four assists and four rebounds. Cade Cunningham and Duncan Robinson each added 15 points, while Jalen Duren recorded 14 points and seven rebounds.
The Hawks played their 21st game without their injured All-Star point guard, Trae Young. Jalen Johnson led Atlanta with a triple-double of 19 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds. Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 22 points for the Hawks (14-12).
