PHILADELPHIA — Landon Dickerson, who exited the NFC championship game with a left knee injury, expects to play for the Eagles in the Super Bowl, according to NFL sources.

The 26-year-old left guard started at center Sunday against the Washington Commanders in place of Cam Jurgens, who served as the emergency backup because of a back injury. Tyler Steen started at left guard to fill the void left by Dickerson.

But Jurgens was thrust into action for the second half. Dickerson came out of the tunnel after halftime but was sidelined, requiring Jurgens take over at center for the next 27 snaps (38%). Brett Toth replaced Jurgens at center once the win was all but sealed. After the game, Jurgens said he felt “good enough” to enter in relief of Dickerson, but he expects that he will “be great for the Super Bowl.”

When Nick Sirianni was asked Tuesday how confident he is that Dickerson will also be available to play against the Chiefs, the Eagles coach responded, “We’ll see.” Sirianni acknowledged that both Dickerson and Jurgens have put “relentless effort” into getting themselves ready to play as the “bumps and bruises” have accumulated throughout the season. Dickerson played some of the first half Sunday with a brace on his left knee.

“I know that these are guys are doing everything they can do,” Sirianni said. “I can’t tell you how much I respect what they go through and what they put their bodies through to play this game that we love. Yeah, just got so much respect for that and just, I mean, toughness is a characteristic that I value so much in life and in football. And we’ve got a tough team. And these guys, the guys you’re asking about, they’re tough as heck. So you can go a long way with toughness.”

Dickerson and Jurgens had maintained clean bills of health this season up until the NFC championship game. Dickerson started every contest of the regular season and playoffs, aside from the regular-season finale against the New York Giants when most of the offensive starters rested. Jurgens did not start in the Week 18 game or the NFC championship.

The two offensive linemen aren’t the only players working through their respective injuries. Brandon Graham has been on injured reserve for the last nine weeks with a torn triceps, an injury he sustained in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams. When asked Monday on his WIP show whether he was going to play in the Super Bowl, the 36-year-old defensive end said he is taking it “one day at a time.”

Graham said he hadn’t heard anything regarding his status as of Monday night. Sirianni left Graham’s availability for the Super Bowl up in the air when he was asked about it Tuesday.

“I can’t answer that question right now, but we’ll see how the week works out and the two weeks work out,” Sirianni said.
