MIAMI — Tyreek Hill sustained an apparent left leg injury in the third quarter of the Miami Dolphins’ Monday night matchup against the New York Jets.

The Dolphins quickly ruled out the star receiver with a knee injury.

“Tyreek Hill has been ruled out with a knee injury,” the franchise tweeted Monday evening. “He is being taken to a local hospital for imaging, evaluation and observation.”

The star receiver had just caught a 10-yard pass when safety Malachi Moore tackled him. His leg got caught underneath him during Moore’s tackle. Hill’s leg was quickly put in an air cast, and he was carted off.

Although Hill smiled and waved as the cart took him off the field, the severity of the injury was apparent. Both teams patted the star wideout on the back after he was loaded onto the cart. The crowd erupted in cheers as he was shuttled into the locker room.

Hill’s injury came amid what would’ve certainly been a noteworthy performance from the receiver. Through a little more than two quarters, Hill led all receivers with six catches for 67 yards.

With Hill likely lost for the foreseeable future, it will be up to Jaylen Waddle, Malik Washington and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to pick up some of the slack in the receiver room.
