Drake Maye injury: Patriots QB doesn't throw to start Thursday practice before Super Bowl LX

FOXBORO, Mass. — The Patriots hit the field without three starters Thursday at the start of their first practice in the leadup to Super Bowl LX, where quarterback Drake Maye and the other quarterbacks were present but did not throw.

Maye was present in uniform after being listed as limited on Wednesday’s projected injury report. Before Thursday’s practice, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said he had “not much” concern over Maye’s right shoulder injury.

The Patriots will release their next injury report Thursday evening.

Elsewhere at practice, inside linebacker Robert Spillane, outside linebacker Harold Landry and tight end Hunter Henry were all absent. Spillane is dealing with an ankle injury he suffered during the AFC championship game. Landry (knee) and Henry (rest) both missed practices last week before traveling to Denver, where Henry played, but Landry was out.

Backup offensive lineman Thayer Munford Jr. and linebacker Marte Mapu were also absent Thursday. Mapu is the only missing player who did not appear on Wednesday’s projected injury report, which the team released despite not holding a practice.
