ST. LOUIS — The streak is over.

The St. Louis Blues snapped a seven-game winless streak with a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers Monday night at Enterprise Center.

Pius Suter scored the game-winning goal for the Blues with 1:23 remaining in the third period.

Dalibor Dvorsky and Robert Thomas scored for the Blues, who received 24 saves from Jordan Binnington, including critical ones to keep St. Louis in the game during the second period.

Jack Roslovic and Andrew Mangiapane scored for the Oilers.

The Blues entered Monday without a win since beating the Dallas Stars on Oct. 18. They go on the road for a quick back-to-back in Washington and Buffalo on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Dvorsky gets on the board

Dvorsky scored his first career NHL goal on Monday night, jumpstarting a second-period Blues comeback that sent the game into the third period tied at 2.

After Colton Parayko drew a tripping penalty on Connor McDavid, the Blues wasted little time in capitalizing on the ensuing power play. Dvorsky won a faceoff (he entered the power play 0 for 4 on the night) cleanly back to Justin Faulk. Thomas scanned the zone from the left flank before cycling the puck back to the point for Faulk, who teed up Dvorsky for a one-timer.

In his junior days with Sudbury of the OHL and in the minors with Springfield of the AHL, Dvorsky was known for his one-timer on the power play, so it was fitting that his first in the NHL came on a slap shot.

Dvorsky’s goal reignited a quiet Enterprise Center crowd, and the Blues followed up the next shift by threatening to score again. They struck again when Thomas found the back of the net with 1:22 left in the second period.

Jimmy Snuggerud found Philip Broberg in the middle of the ice for a one-timer that was rocketed wide, but caromed to Thomas in the left circle. Thomas banked a shot off the post and then off Oilers goaltender Calvin Pickard into the net.

For the Blues, it was a bounce they hadn’t gotten much this season, and it tied the game at 2.

The goal also gave Thomas a multi-point night in his first game back from a four-game absence with an upper-body injury.

Oilers take the lead

Edmonton scored first with 1:22 left in the first period, as Roslovic tallied on the power play on a feed from below the goal line from McDavid. The Oilers were on the power play for eight seconds before scoring, a man-advantage that was earned when Oskar Sundqvist was called for holding.

The Blues fell behind 2-0 just 2:27 into the second period when Mangiapane capped a 4 on 2 rush with his fourth goal of the season. St. Louis actually began the period driving play and generating chances, but could not capitalize before Mangiapane opened up a two-goal edge for Edmonton.

Suter’s chance from the slot was thwarted. Brayden Schenn couldn’t get a shot off when Suter set him up with an open net on the back door. Broberg was stymied on the far post on a cross-crease save by Pickard. Moments later, Parayko’s shot from the right point was blocked and the Oilers took off in transition.

In the first period, Thomas had a couple prime cracks at scoring chances early on, as Pickard got a skate on Thomas’ wraparound attempt.
