Vegas Golden Knights rally, but lose to Dallas Stars in shootout

LAS VEGAS — The Vegas Golden Knights rallied from three goals down in the third period to earn the point but lost 5-4 to the Dallas Stars at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday night.
Reilly Smith kickstarted the comeback with a shorthanded goal 4:04 into the frame, and Ivan Barbashev ended a 16-game goal drought with 6:06 remaining.
Mitch Marner tied it with 48.7 seconds left with a point shot off an offensive-zone draw with the extra attacker.
Adin Hill finished with 23 saves, and Keegan Kolesar had a goal and an assist for the Knights (25-14-14).
Dallas’ Jason Robertson and Mikko Rantanen scored the lone goals in the shootout.
