KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two-time Academy Award-winning actor George Clooney joined the "New Heights" podcast this week, and he bonded with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in a couple of ways.

First, both attended the University of Cincinnati, although Clooney admitted he was only there for “a minute.”

And both have been to Italy. Kelce was there in May 2024 with his fiancee, superstar singer Taylor Swift. Kelce opened up a bit about their time in Italy while talking with Clooney.

“Travis, you were in Lake Como, weren’t you?” Clooney asked.

“Oh yeah, me and Tay danced around Lake Como for a little while, man,” Kelce said. “I loved it out there.”

Clooney noted that he has a place at Lake Como.

“They love to point it out whenever you’re on the lake,” Kelce told him.

“I’m part of the tour,” Clooney quipped.

While in Italy, Kelce and Swift were spotted walking around Lake Como and enjoying a candlelit dinner at the Villa Sola Cabiati on the “expansive waterside property of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo,” per the Daily Mail.

Kelce said on the "New Heights" podcast that he was enamored with Lake Como.

“I’ll tell you what, it sits perfectly on that water. It’s a beautiful place and a beautiful area,” Kelce said. “Everybody out there is so lovely. Every morning, I was throwing my shoes on, running up and down the water. And we had gloomy days, we had beautiful days, and just every single day was just a new epic, like realization, what’s really around the world. And I had never even imagined that place in my dreams.”

Even the gloomy days are memorable when you’re spending time with the one you love. Kelce and Swift weren’t engaged at the time, but they seemed to have a great time.

Clooney noted that dinner is a big deal for Italians, and Kelce shared a bit more about his trip to Lake Como with Swift.

“There’s so many little spots that are just so fun to go to dinner, too,” Kelce said. “You’re going to a place that has like, 10 seats in a corner of a cove, and it’s just the best pasta you could ever imagine. I’s such a cool place. I recommend that place for everybody.”
