Bunnie Xo is taking inspiration from Cameron Diaz on her journey to become a mother.

The 46-year-old podcaster has cited the example of Diaz - who welcomed her third child earlier this year at the age of 53 - as a reason for not giving up hope of becoming a parent following her divorce from country star Jelly Roll.

Speaking on Jenna Bush Hager's Open Book podcast, Bunnie said: "You know who has inspired me a lot more too is freaking Cameron Diaz.

"She just had her third child at like 53!"

Bunnie explained how The Mask actress and her husband Benji Madden welcomed their first child together when she was 47, with the couple now parents to Raddix, six, Cardinal, two, and Nautas, four months, and says it makes her even more determined to become a mother.

She said: "I think that's so inspiring, and I feel like it gives you a purpose later on in life to live for. So yeah... I will still have a baby."

Bunnie and Jelly Roll ended their 10-year marriage in May and she explained that she intends to be more private in the next chapter of her life.

The Dumb Blonde Podcast host said: "I just feel like I need to keep it close to my chest, especially right now, because everybody just wants to pin like the craziest stuff on me.

"But it's still a dream."

Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, also confessed that she lost 20lbs after her divorce from Jelly Roll as she was eating baby food "to get by" following the heartbreak.

She said: "There were moments when my team had to pick me up off the floor and give me IVs.

"I was eating baby food to get by. I lost 20 pounds.

"Heartbreak, man, it's the best freaking diet.

"That's all you can do. When life hands you lemons, make freaking lemonade."

Bunnie had previously released an episode of her podcast in which she addressed the divorce, but deleted it as she couldn't bear to see it whenever she looked at her YouTube channel.

She said: "Yeah, it hurt. And I talked about it and I let viewers in and I let them know on my podcast.

"I said what I needed to say. I made a s******* off of it.

"If I was gonna do it for money, I would've left it up. Every time I went to my YouTube, I didn't want to see that.

"And I also don't want to be the freaking poster child for divorce.

"There's nothing hot about that. It's a very devastating situation that anybody ever has to go through. Families get broken up. Hearts get broken. So it's time to move on."
