Storm star Nneka Ogwumike named WNBA All-Star Game starter

SEATTLE — Nneka Ogwumike will represent the Storm in the WNBA All-Star Game after earning a spot in the starting lineup for the fourth straight year, and second since joining Seattle last year.
This is the 10th All-Star selection for Ogwumike who is tied with Tamika Catchings and Brittney Griner for the most in league history behind Sue Bird (13) and Diana Taurasi (11).
In her 14 th season, Ogwumike is averaging 17.0 points on 53.1% shooting from the field, 7.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals.
Top-fan vote-getters Napheesa Collier and Caitlin Clark will serve as captains for the All-Star teams that include starters Aliyah Boston, Paige Bueckers, Allisha Gray, Sabrina Ionescu, Satou Sabally, Breanna Stewart, A’ja Wilson and Ogwumike.
WNBA coaches will select the 12 All-Star Game reserves, which will be announced Sunday. The All-Star captains will draft their respective rosters from a pool of eight starters and 12 reserves during an ESPN broadcast on July 8.
The All-Star Game will be played July 19 in Indianapolis.
Storm standouts Skylar Diggins and Gabby Williams are in contention to nab a spot as All-Star reserves.
Diggins finished sixth among guards and Williams was ninth-ranked frontcourt player in the All-Star voting, in which fans accounted for 50% of the votes while WNBA players and a media panel each accounted for 25%.
