CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Detroit Pistons ended the Charlotte Hornets' nine-game winning streak with a fight-filled 110-104 victory inside Spectrum Center on Monday.
The game was overshadowed by a fight that broke out midway through the third quarter. At the 7:09 mark of the third quarter, Hornets center Moussa Diabate fouled Jalen Duren, who was attempting a layup. The two got face-to-face, and the situation escalated when Duren hit Diabate in the face.
A shoving match broke out during the game, involving Hornets forward Miles Bridges. His actions prompted Isaiah Stewart to leave the bench and throw punches.
After a review by the officials, all four players involved were ejected from the game. Duren, who was returning after sitting out a game due to right knee soreness, finished with 15 points and five rebounds, including seven points in the third quarter.
Paul Reed came in and provided Detroit with major production off the bench following the ejections. He played 17 minutes, adding 12 points and three rebounds. Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 33 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
