Timberwolves win first NBA Cup game of the season, beat Clippers, 127-101

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Timberwolves are now 1-0 in NBA Cup games, 1-1 in games without Anthony Edwards and 4-2 on the season after a 127-101 win over the L.A. Clippers.
After a disappointing outing on Wednesday against the Golden State Warriors, the Wolves fully acquitted themselves against the Clippers tonight.
LaMelo Ball (24 points, seven assists) and Jaden McDaniels (23 points, seven assists, six rebounds) led the Wolves, combining for 47 points.
But the bench was an equal star of this show. The second unit put up 51 points, including 19 from Bones Hyland, who ignited the Wolves in the first half.
The Wolves will play their second back-to-back set, with a game in San Antonio tomorrow night.
