Here's the message Patrick Mahomes has for Chiefs teammates ahead of Super Bowl LIX

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After the Chiefs beat the 49ers, 25-22, in Super Bowl LVIII, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and his teammates hit the Las Vegas strip.
The Chiefs players were joined by family and friends, celebrating a second straight Super Bowl title.
But leading up to the Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium, Mahomes and his teammates were all business. And that’s the crux of the message Mahomes will give to Chiefs players who are preparing for the Super Bowl for the first time.
“I just make sure to stay on guys about getting their stuff done and making sure that they keep the main thing the main thing, and that’s the football game that we’re going to play,” Mahomes said Wednesday during his last weekly spot with Carrington Harrison on 96.5 The Fan. “And then you can enjoy the other stuff as well. But I tell them, you really can enjoy it if you win the game.
“So if you just want to focus in during the week and try to do whatever you can to give yourself the best chance, I think you can go out there and get the win hopefully, and then you enjoy it after.”
This will be the fifth Super Bowl in six seasons for Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones. Players drafted by the Chiefs in 2022 or 2023 already have appeared in multiple Super Bowls with the Chiefs.
But rookies and players like wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, running back Kareem Hunt and defensive lineman Charles Omenihu will be playing in the big game for the first time.
Mahomes loves it.
“It‘s super rewarding, especially for the veteran guys that haven’t been there before, because it’s a goal for everybody,” Mahomes said. “And these guys are coming in, putting work in every single day to get to that game. And you want to go out there and have a great week, and then obviously try to get the win and build those memories.
“A bunch of my best memories are from Super Bowl week, and it’s hanging out with the guys in the hotel room before the game. I mean, the game is awesome. Obviously you always remember that. But I think those memories that you build up and the camaraderie of just being around each other for a full week and all your hard work paying off, I think that’s stuff that you have for the rest of your life.”
